Cedar City Competition

I work at ConfiDance Kids, a dance studio for children ages 3-13, and last weekend we went down to Cedar City for the high school sponsored dance competition. Our girls and boys did so well! We placed highest overall and won the sweepstakes award. They were so adorable and I loved watching them get so excited to compete. Not to brag or anything :), but the two dances I choreographed both got 1st place and the girls looked so good. I love them!

On the way down...

Kendra, Lily, and Alyssa after their cute trio on night 1...

All of our soloists, duos, and trios plus some teachers on night 1...

And our day 2 group dances...

A silly picture after the awards ceremony with all of the dancers...

Me being WAY too proud of our trophies...

And the whole group!

Here are a couple of amazing dancers... really, they'll be big someday.

Align Center

It was a big success and I hope I can keep teaching and doing dance for the rest of my life!

Tie-Dye Mania

What do you do with your Wednesday nights?
PARTY of course!

Carly had some friends over from work last Wednesday and we decided to tie-dye. I felt like saying the word 'rad' after that.

...and we were hungry so we roasted some dogs- over a spit.

The result of not wearing gloves while dying. That is funny, am I supposed to spell it dyeing? That word looks gross.

I should have worn protective footwear.

We didn't realize that we had to wait for the dye to set for 8 hours though so I never saw some of the results.

SarahLeone and I recreated this picture on this cake... just for Carly. The picture was supposed to be a valentine for Brad, Carly's b-friend, but obviously she never gave it to him.

Carly's family came down on Sunday and surprised us all with dinner and cake. It was yum. And they were so so so much fun to have over.

Us all chillin' the Friday before Car's birthday because she insisted on a birthday weekend.

We went camping to celebrate- in our apt. It was a tight fit, but it worked. I never once slept in it. The floor is so hard. I feel like I'm getting old.

BYUSA!

So mom says that blogs are not always boring without pictures- I disagree but nevertheless, I blog on.
This week I started on the campaign trail of...da da da duh... Garrett and Nat! They are these amazing guys that are running for Prez and Vice of BYUSA. Garrett can speak that crazy click language and Nat is a drummer. And it's cool to see how invested they are in this- it's an all-in business.
Plus I started doing a video thing for BYUSA. It's called "The Truth About Y". It's all about why BYU has the policies they have. Students are always complaining and hopefully the vid will cure it all up (said somewhat sarcastically/hopefully).
And I'm going to a conference tomorrow in which President Eyring is speaking. Excited! I am....yoda? connecting? hmmm.
FINe'/ finish

Feb 21st, 2009

This is a prep for the BYU 4th Ward semi-formal dinner...

Tis true, we could not attend Imagine Dragons Concert because of this, but Hey! We had free fun at the Dinner!

Tic Tacs just in case the night went well...Just joking mom- it really was just in case the food was garlicy or oniony (those are real words).

Crazy faces! Carly Laga and Ethan Parent

Weirdy faces. Myself and Jeremy Oborn

Wowsers! What a quad! What can I say? We have fun. (And can I mention the gastrocnemius muscles on those ladies? Ow Ow!)

Our pose for the red carpet-and I have red eye, how convenient.

And there is one more day of my life.

The Life and Style of it all

Chris Merritt and... friend. (I can't remember her name... Heather maybe?)

This is Pablo. He laughed at one of my jokes... it made me feel special.

Heather, myself, Becca, and Jerica after watching the stupidest 3d movie ever. They liked it. I hated it. Don't go see the movie Coraline. It's creepy.

Blue Tongue Babes

This is what I like to call...Puke Soup. Ingredients: Cream of Mushroom soup, black beans, peas, cilantro, and lemon juice. It was disgusting, yet I ate most of the leftovers cuz I didn't want to go shopping.

Ain't No Sunshine- by The Vibrant Sounds

It was good... mostly. The video ends right as the crazy lead man starts rapping. You should thank me for saving you from it. Rapping is... weird, especially in that song. Can't we just leave an amazing song be? Do we really have to pollute it with rap?

He just stopped dead in the middle of this song twice (obviously there can't be two middles of a song but you get my drift) to explain the lyrics to the crowd. He was really funny- but in a "this isn't funny" sort of way, if ya know what I mean.
